Enraged by his failure to get an album contract, Tommy Singh (Shahid Kapoor), gets high and abusively chases his employer and gets arrested. Meanwhile, police officer Sartaj Singh (Diljit Dosanjh) is witness to the bribery involving drug smuggling. His younger brother Balli is completely under the influence of misuse of drugs. A rustic young girl (Alia Bhatt) from Bihar with a confirming tone falls prey to dealing in drugs. She is made target for sexual gratification. Dr. Preet Sahani (Kareena Kapoor), teams up with ASI Sartaj to unmask the source of ingredients and chemicals to manufacture the abusive drugs.The film is based on the on going real life issues of drug addiction in Punjab.
Punjab da puttar ‘Diljit Dosanjh’ will be portraying a tough cop in the film and its his debut film in bollywood.
